Secondary reinforcer
Positive reinforcement
Negative reinforcement
You will have 20 minutes to create an educational, illustrated story based off of the information provided on the topic of reinforcement in the chapter. There are different types of reinforcers provided that can lead to a number of different results. You will choose the type of reinforcer (primary or secondary) to present in the story as well as including whether it is positive or negative reinforcement. You can reference page 107 to better understand how certain reinforcers work and page 112 for the difference between positive and negative reinforcement. In your story, make sure to include details about a student that requires a particular type of reinforcer to increase their behavior into something more desirable to the teacher. Describe the effects of the reinforcement used in your story.
You will then give a 5 minute presentation to the class. You will read your story aloud to teach everyone about reinforcement. You should spend around three minutes reading your story and 1-2 minutes reviewing vocabulary, especially if the definitions are not obvious through your narrative.
*Important* By the end of your presentation your peers should know what a reinforcer is, the difference between primary and secondary reinforcer, and the difference between positive and negative reinforcement.
