Objective
1. Describe five basic assumptions underlying behaviorist views of learning, and apply these assumptions to classroom practice. Use a behaviorist perspective to describe the diversity you are likely to see among students.
Instructions
Please refer to pages 98-100 and 129-130 in your textbook.
For this activity you will have 20 minutes to use the provided Play-Doh to create models of the five basic assumptions of behaviorism. It is up to you to decide how you would like to represent them: your models may be literal or figurative. Whatever you choose, you must be prepared to present them to the class by (1) explaining the key assumptions and (2) how your models demonstrate them, (3) how the assumptions can generally be applied to classroom practice, and (4) what diversity you will see among students through a behaviorist perspective. This will be a very concise presentation--you only have 5 minutes to present!
